Dear Mr. Waegen:--

You were so good to offer to meet my boy for luncheon on his way through to sail and we both appreciate it more than we can say.

However, he and Steve Johnson seem to have tied themselves up completely as far as dates for meals go for the one day they will be in New York.

Bill says to tell you, however, that he hopes to get a chance to run in to see you sometime during the afternoon of the 28th - but it will all depend upon how their plans come out and he does not wish to have you stay in to see him or anything of that sort. He will just take a chance, if he gets it, on dropping by and asking if you happen to be there.

When we do get a chance to grill that turkey for you, I hope you will meet both of the older boys and after his intensive training is over which will be after the first of September, if you are near West Point, do drop in on my youngest.

And thank you again for all your kind offers. I sincerely appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Most sincerely Yours,
Marian E. Standish
