During the month he told me he would love to charter a boat for 2 or 3 weeks to make occasional little trips. Of course, I do not know whether your boats are in commission and whether at all you are interested to rent them out. However, there is no harm in asking. Would you, therefore, kindly let me know whether Maury could charter the "Anna" during the month of August and how much it would be with the crew? Of course, for all the gas and the crew's food, etc. Maury will pay himself. If your boat is not available, you might perhaps know of some other boat that you could recommend, or Chris might be able to put us in touch with someone.

We have been through a terrific whirl here when the King and Queen were in New York -- rather festive and colorful. Of course, I had to be at the reception at the World's Fair and for weeks ahead rehearsed all my very finest court manners that had become, needless to say, rather rusty.

The Fair is most amusing and everybody under the sun can be found there at night. One has to be careful though in one's escapades as no doubt Elsa Maxwell will come out of a parachute; Linda Porter emerge from a bob-sled. The ice ballet girls in Sun Valley are mostly post-debutante of by-gone days and that beautiful strip-teaser can be seen most carefully inspected by Mrs. Cornelius Vanderbilt. Dark glasses are certainly not sufficient protection against venemous spies that lurk around every corner.

The exhibits, however, are really beautiful and most interesting and the more I go the better I like it.

I hear Anna has gone to England. She slipped out of town so quietly and I am sorry I didn't have a chance to see her.
