Dear Mr. Douglas:
Mr. Seligmann has asked me to write you these few lines to tell you that he was extremely sorry and disappointed that he had not time to come in and see you again before he left London.

As I told you, I wanted him to have another look at the little portrait of Lady Hamilton by Romney, that you showed me. Now, we would like you to kindly send us a photograph of this picture with its full pedigree and also the very lowest cash price you would accept for it.

In view of present conditions, however, I cannot say that we would be sufficiently interested to purchase it, unless, of course, you could make your price considerably less than the figure you mentioned to me. Anyhow, we would like to have the photograph and particulars.

Awaiting, therefore, your reply and with my kind regards, in which Mr. Seligmann joins, believe me to be

Yours sincerely,
