Dear Mr. Douglas,

You know of so many things that I am writing to inquire whether you would know of a POUSSIN painting.

It should be of a comparatively good size, and of fine quality. The main subject should be a landscape with small figures, and not of the type where the landscape plays a secondary rôle and the figures are of large size.

If you know of anything, would you be so good as to send me a photograph and the price. Please add the pedigree to it and let me know whether if necessary, we could have the painting sent over here on approval.

I hope you are enjoying good health, and with my kindest regards,

Believe me to be

Yours very sincerely,

(Germain Séligmann)
