June 6, 1947

Dear Sir:

Pursuant to your letter of May 31, 1947, please be advised that we shall ship within the next few days to the Fogg Museum of Art, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, the three paintings which we are holding for your account:

MANET "La Plage"
DEGAS "Portrait de Mme. Jeanteaud"
VAN GOGH "Les Soleils"

May I call your attention to the fact that though these paintings are in excellent condition as Mr. C.M. de Hauke undoubtedly told you, these canvases are rather loose and that any traveling involving property of such importance is a decided risk. You will certainly recall that these paintings are not framed.

As requested, we will ask our underwriters to provide additional coverage for the transit and location.

Sincerely yours,

(Germain Seligman)
