The force of the Department of Mollusks, besides the curator for the period reported on, has consisted of

The strength of the division has been seriously impaired during the year by illness which has affected all the members of the force, not only interfering with work by absence on account of sickness but also by impairing the capacity for work, at times, when present. In no previous years has there been so much sickness,
