Articles of Agreement made and entered into this twentieth day of April A.D. 1868 between Brvt Major J. M. Brown, Disbursing Officer Bureau Refugees Freedmen and Abandoned Lands of the one part, and Thomas Fahey, Esq. of Washington City, District of Columbia of the other part.

This agreement witnesseth..That the said Bvt Major J. M. Brown, D. O. Bureau of R. F. and A. L. for and on behalf of the United States of America, and the said Thomas Fahey, his heirs, executors, and administrators, have covenanted and agreed, and by these present do mutually covenant and agree to and with each other, as follows, namely: —

First....  That the said Thomas Fahey, his heirs, executors, and administrations, shall furnish and deliver at square No. 1054 "Capitol Hill" Washington, D.C. all the lime required with construction of the tenement houses now being erected by the Bureau R. F. & A. L. at that place.

Second....  All lime furnished, to be of the best quality, and delivered at such times, and in such reasonable quantities as may be required by Mr. C. W. Perkins, or an agent of the Bureau R F & A. L. acting in his place, said delivery to begin in the signing of this contract

Third....  In consideration where of the said Thomas Fahey shall receive for every [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] barrel of lime delivered, and accepted after inspection by the designated Agent of the Bureau R. F. & A. L.
