"Buck" Weaver

Akron is being visited this week by two famous fliers, who recently purchased two army planes and are now enroute to Chicago, where they expect to open an aviation school. Enroute, the aviators are making stops at the bigger cities and picking up expense money by passenger flights.
Thousands of residents were amazed yesterday by the "aerial circus" staged by the two over the city. Lieut. Meyers picked a location over the Portage for his stunts and for ten minutes did loops, tail spins, dives and glides, once coming almost to the building tops.
During the war, Weaver was civilian instructor at various camps. He has made over 9,000 flights and so far has never met with an accident. Weaver considers no stunt staged int he air as dangerous. He has flown thru electrical storms and in heavy snow storms.
Turned down by the American enlisting stations at the opening of the war because they said he was color blind, (incidentally Liut. Meyers is a former artist) Meyers went across the border and enlisted in the Royal Flying corps. He served thruout the war as instructor and at one time was in the squadron with the late Vernon Castle.
The "birds" plan to remain in Akron over Sunday, using the field out Maple st. as their headquarters. They will go direct from the Ruber City of Chicago, where they will open their school within a few weeks.
