Everyone knows that Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson was a great American general, but few know he was so religious that he refused to mail a letter to his wife if he thought it would be in transit on a Sunday.
Despite popular opinion, the Battle of Bunker Hill was not fought at Bunker Hill. During June of 1775, Gen. Artemas Ward issued orders to his troops to seize and fortify Bunker Hill, but the Colonial officers decided instead to fortify Breed's Hill, which was 2,000 feet away.
