Dear Hattie,

Your letter is a comfort only because I know Bud has cared enough to want to see that you are protected in some way. I know the history of the wife and realize the situation isn't too pleasant. But at least you are safe.

You must miss your yard more than anything. Can you get enough sunlight to do greenhouse type gardening in the apt! It is really a big project now you people in townhouses, condo etc who must be city dwellers. With your green thumb you could have vine growing tomatoes, squash & beans. Also gorgeous flowers.

I'm so glad to know you do have a furry friend to warm you and talk to you. Indeed our pets keep the fire burning in our hearts when people let us down.

Our new station has been very interesting and life is beginning to settle down after all the confusion of moving, finding just the right maid etc. It takes some doing especially when it must be done in French! Our house is huge and very high ceilings. The space is comfortable and the location perfect for work and town. We love Rabat which is close to the Atlantic and has nice beaches.
