Page twenty-two        Leaves of Wesley Heights

   ¶Dr. and Mrs. Arthur N. Zinkhan, of Hawthorne Street, returned last week from a three weeks motor trip through Canada. Later they went to Cleveland and to visit Dr. Zinkhan's brother, Dr. Paul Zinkhan, at his home in Rosetta, Ohio.

   ¶Mrs. Dorothy B. Townsend, of Forty-third Street, will leave shortly for Florida, where she will spend the winter. Three of her four children will accompany her, the eldest, Barry, remaining at Hagerstown, where he is in school.

   ¶Mrs. Herbert A. Howell, of Forty-fifth Street, and her son, Mr. Spencer Howell, returned in September from Ocean City, New Jersey, where Mr. Howell participated in the Atlantic Coast Tennis Tournament.

   ¶Mr. and Mrs. R. Page Irving, of Cathedral Avenue, had as their house guest in September their son, Midshipman George Hollingsworth Wigfall, a third classman at Annapolis. They also entertained his classmate, Midshipman Jan B. Peseanto, of Porto Rico. Mr. and Mrs. Irving were hosts at a supper party on September 13th for Midshipman Peseanto and Midshipman Wigfall.

   ¶Mrs. Roy C. Miller, of Klingle Street, was hostess at luncheon and bridge on September 10th, when her guests were Mrs. Clarance A. Land, Mrs. Arthur B. Farnham, Mrs. Royal R. Rommel, Mrs. Gregor Macpherson, Mrs. John H. Yates, and Mrs. Winfree E. Johnson.

   ¶Mr. and Mrs. Carl W. Mitman, of Klingle Street, ad their two daughters, Miss Doris Mitman and Miss Lois Mitman, are at home after a vacation spent at their summer camp, Dingman's Ferry, Pennsylvania. En route to Washington they spent a night on the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Clad Dougherty, at West Chester, Pennsylvania, and another night with Mr. Mitman's mother in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

   ¶Dr. and Mrs. Delos O. Kinsman, of Klingle Street, spent some time this summer motoring in the middle west, when they visited their two daughters, Mrs. Burgess I. Seamonson in Chicago and Mrs. Alvin Loverud in Silton, Wisconsin. They also visited friends in Appleton and Whitewater, Wisconsin, before returning to Washington. Shortly after their return, Dr. and Mrs. Kinsman had as their house guests Miss Mary Louise Brown, dean of women of American University, and Miss Mary Louise Kellerman, of Lafayette, Indiana.

   ¶Mrs. Barnaby, wife of Lieut. Ralph Barnaby, U. S. N., of Lowell Street, was hostess on Friday, September 11th at a birthday party for her small daughter, Janet Junkin, who celebrated her fifth birthday anniversary. The young guests, received in the garden, included Patsy Farnsworth, Lee Hartley, Jacqueline Williams, Ruth Williams, Anne Williams, David Hildreth, Jean Hildreth, Mildred Thomas, Raymond Thomas, Dorothy Roscasco, Jackie Rommel, Barbara Kinney, Mills Kinney, Jimmy Barnhard. Miss Mildred Heinemann assisted Mrs. Barnaby in entertaining the children.

   ¶Mr. and Mrs. C. Chester Caywood returned in September from a delightful visit to Lakeville, Connecticut, where they were the guests of Mr. Harry E. Jones at Hotchkiss School. En route to Washington they stopped for a visit with Mrs. Caywood's sister, Mrs. W. D. Anderson, in Bloomfield, New Jersey.

Miss Margaret Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Thompson, of Forty-fourth Place, rode in this old Tally-Ho in the horse show at Narragansett this summer. She is seated on the right in the second row. Mr. James Walsh, of Charlestown, R. I., owner of the blue ribbon winning coach, is shown in front.
