REPUBLICAN WOMEN RECEIVED
By MRS. CARPENTER

Mrs. T. Kinsey Carpenter, of Garfield Street, active in the affairs of the League of Republican Women of the District of Columbia and editor of the League's monthly publication, was chairman of the committee in charge of receiving guests at the garden card party held on Tuesday, July 19th, at Hollin Hall, the Virginia home of Mr. and Mrs. Harley P. Wilson, near Alexandria.
An attendance of more than four hundred feminine Republicans was guarantee of a delightfully successful afternoon. Mrs. Carpenter was assisted in receiving the large group by Mrs. Luther Reichelderfer, acting president; Mrs. Samuel J Prescott, Mrs. Harry K. Daugherty, Mrs. Edward A. Keys, Mrs. Henry Albers, Mrs. William Lee Corbin, Mrs. Frederick M. Davenport, Mrs. Warren J. Haines, Mrs. Burnite Sheldon Matthews, Mrs. Flore McGill Keefer, Mrs. George H. Moses and McGill Keefer, Mrs. George H. Moses and Mrs. James S. Parker.
In addition to Mrs. Carpenter, two of the group, Mrs.Prescott and Mrs. Keefer, have many friends in the community, the former being th emother of Mrs. Charles Harmon Pardoe of Cathedral Avenue. Mrs. Keefer will be remembered by the entire club membership for the delightful program of songs she gave at the tea and musicale at the club in January.

BOYS JOIN GROUP
AT CAMP LETTS
A "little White House secretariat," enjoyed a vacation at Camp Letts, the Y. M. C. A. camp for Washington boys, in July. Sons of two of President Hoover's secretaries were members of the camp, which is located on the Rhodes River near the Chesapeake Bay.
Robert Joslin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Joslin of Indian Lane, Spring Valley section, was greeted upon his arrival at the camp by John Marshall Newton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Newton. Mr. Joslin and Mr. Newton are secretaries to Mr. Hoover, but only the former is a resident of Wesley Heights. Mr. French Strother, the third of Mr. Hoover's secretarial trio, with Mrs. Strother, is a member of the community.
Another young camper in July was Bob Johnson, son of Walter Johnson, manager of the Washington Baseball team. Bob, as might be expected, is a promising ball player although only ten years old.
Both the Joslin and Newton boys have visited at President Hoover's camp on the Rapidan, so camp life is a familiar story to them.
