I. MY last contact with Miss Daves reflected by the enclosed
1) Xerox of VOGUE letter Jan. 28, 1964.
*** 2) My First contact to Jessica Daves re: Charles W. Nudelman Inc. plus to: Mrs. Randolph, Harper's Bazaar. 

II. After my letter March 5, 1940
a) Article had already been sent to Great Britain. without my religuishing rights. (My first lesson writing for Editors outside Wash. D.C.)
 
b) The title was changed as women writers of FIFTY or more not unusual. 
"Elizabeth" Lady Russell at AGE 72 wrote her last and best seller "Mr. Skeffington"....

c) Opposite full page portrait of Lady Russell fifty yrs. ago with pet dog, when her first best seller was: "Elizabeth and her German Garden".

d) Hence my article was changed to "Fifty..Future or Finis?

*** (2) First visit for interview: Could not believe I was forty-two. asked my permission for a photographer to take my picture. Reason: Had a sister in Ohio same age looked like she could be my grandmother: Gave it. Never saw photograph. Second appt. made.

Several yrs later heard she had been banned for the International Fashion Previews as she had "stolen" the fashions for Vogue. Amen!

How could I have been so trusting, so naive, after my fourth attempt to build up a new life.. with aviation accomplishments.. Collier's did the next theft of my Soaring article, with all the pilots, most young men in Commercial aviation, Navy and Army Air Force.
