Mr J C Junkin,
4613 Lynndale Ave.,
Minneapolis. Minne.

Dear Mr Junkin:

Aside from the sad mission that brought you to our community, I hold in memory the very pleasant visit you paid me at my office early in November with cherished regards. The business of that moment has been somewhat advanced and I am taking the liberty in writing to you to advise you of what had been accomplished thus far. Your ties entitle you to know: your interests have been commendably helpful.
Mrs Junkin was appointed administratrix. The appraisement allowed to her, and Janet, under Ohio Laws, benefits to provide a year's assurance (pending normal trusts in settlement with the creditors) or $2300.00, in the aggregate. Assets were appraised Stock, 55 shares $6000.00; Account (salaries) $8500.00--Total $14,500.00. Yesterday I was paying out some of the receipts in discharge of bills, or claims, against the estate--such as doctors, tax, costs, etc. Janit's interest (estimated) paid inheritance tax of $16.38

Onder Ohio Laws I arranged for the court's approval and had the widow elect to take the stock at appraisal, and advance this stock for transfer on the books of the company accordingly; then of this block of 55 shares, I have effected a contract for the sale by her of 54 shares to Brukner at an advance over the cost price to Mrs Junkin. This gives him advantages essential, in my judgement, --and yours as I recall--for operation.

I wish to inquire whether the estate is obligated to you in any amount for expenses incident to funeral arrangements; I know you paid this, but I do not know whether any part of this was to be reflected back to the estate. If so, it will be proper for you to present it before settlement, and you might send your claim to me.

The doctor has advised Mrs Junkin to get Buddie to a more equitable climate, and we are advancing matters speedily that she may get away from inclemencies here. The baby seems to be well, and growing finely. I hope to effect a guardianship for Janet's interest with our local Bank & Trust company--for the estate only, of course.

I hope you and Mrs Junkin are well.
Yours truly,
L. E. St John
