to take me to their house for Sunday dinner. I settled for Phil, Papa made sure in our "One a Cat" and all games - the many kids - always at our home. (Papa a man for kids-) knew and understood with Phil's letting. Papa show them why nothing should ever hit Phil's head. When the silver plate was able to be put in at rite stage of Phil's development we had a sort of "Hero" party about it.

My older brother Charlie had a car 19?? in his top teens - a Metz? Anyhow Glen Ridge was part of the slope from Caldwell, Verona, Montclair N.J to G.R. to Bloomfield to Newark. We ice skated Up the kill at Verona Lake. 5 boys & me. I was on fancy shoe skates - Charlie Hockeys. (Geo. later on his Blk Hawk tabulars) Since I was under 100 lb and shared all Charlie's built effort - bobsled - etc. I had to drive (steer) as the Metz stopped before the steeper Verona climb. 5 boys pushed - then a down slope - sputter all hopped in Charlie driving! Do kids have any such FUN to-day? Certainly I married the rite kind of man for my children - and for me. The test in my liking was just that and hands off!

Here in G.C. I drove Bill McLaughlin (Irene Castle's son's) Jaguar - neat performance- No wonder I liked soaring. Driving West 1934 - son & I stopped to admire the Combines on the big Wheat Farms - West - rode horseback. Need the rite fellow to really Live.!!
