1918 Waco, Texas was originally pronounced H-U-A-CO, Indian name.
     When "Buck" soloed his cadets, he involuntarily shouted W-a-ako!
     This became the yell and greeting of all pilots during the WAR.
     Came the ARMISTICE and THE INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC. Could smell the
     dead at camps.
1918 Birth of son, Geo. Chas. Weaver, Dec. 12, 1918, Chgo; Ill.
     Geo. E. "Buck" Weaver married Hattie Meyers, Feb. 12, 1918 at Waco, 
     Texas.
1918 Honorable discharge..Signal Corps. Waco, Texas. Civ. Flying Instr. 
     had no insurance. Civilian pilots, post-war had to be licensed to 
     fly.
     Rebelled..Lic. 610 for "Buck".

POST*WAR
1919 Lorain, Ohio - Flying School started. Buck pilot Elwood J. Junkin, designer with GlennMartin Aircr.
C.J. Brukner, school chum of E.J. Junkin.

WEAVER AIRCRAFT COMPANY formed. Built Waco-Cootie. Cable sent to "Frenchie" wartime pilot, used initials W-A-C-O. Buck yelled Wa-a-ko! Ever since the airplanes and gliders (during WarII) have been named WACO, pronounced W-a-a-ko. Test flight of Waco-Cootie, sm. monoplane, first then biplane, enveloped with FOG. Buck's face crushed in, couldn't see the field; 6 wks hospital; eye-sight saved, right eye injured; sense of smell lost. And all motors were water-cooled, subject to over-heating and water jackets cracking. Hazard.

Registration N-ABCW on WACO 4. 

July 31 1924 DEATH of Geo. E "Buck" Weaver. La Grange, Ill. Internal injuries in 1919 with gradual adhesions intestinal tract, blood poisoning heel boil. Post-mortem showed causes. 
Airplane funeral over Chgo by famous pilots. 

1924 ROUND THE WORLD ARMY FLYERS, landed U.S. too late for Buck to be their toastmaster; honored him; had kept in touch.

"Buck" had felt himself a failure; told his widow to trust completely Eldwood J. Junkin. Great was their friendship.
