lever: [[image]] F E R (biceps is attached just below elbow) The arm[[strikeout]] s [[/strikeout]] loses slightly in force because the resistance arm is longer than the effort. On the other hand, when the arm is extended, I think the picture is more like this [[image]] F E R (?) I don't quite know what muscles are used. So now the arm loses greatly in force. N'est ce pas? On the same principle, I said it would be disadvantageous to have the biceps attached nearer to the wrist. Please tell me if I am right.

Reactions to the dance came out at breakfast. There were only two: "Yes, I had a wonderful time!" or "It was foul. Never saw so many drips in my life." Most people belonged to the latter class and ate large consolatory breakfasts. (we had honey butter by the tablespoonful: I ate it 1 1/2" thick.) Lee Ann and her roommate suffered. I saw first L.A, plodding about with a short Britisher with a red moustache and a doleful expression, then her roommate bouncing about with a gay 6'7"er. One girl's [[strikethrough]] said her [[/strikethrough]] companion for most of the evening was really pitiable. In desperation of a theme of conversation, he asked her to marry him. "Why won't you accept me?" he pleaded. "Why, Char-les, I simply don't even love you my dear" she was forced to explain the rest of the dance. These [[strikethrough]] dances [[/strikethrough]] occasions as you see, can be wierd.
