Dear Folks,

Well, I've been home! Grandma seemed glad to see me. She hoped I would mow the front lawn; but I hadn't the energy this week & promised to do it next. Mr. Turner hasn't called, but I will get hold of him the middle of October. The barn is boarded & shingled with the roof mended & window replaced. They are spreading $1 lb. butter very thin. History halfway studied (I am scared stiff now before breakfast) & no theme yet! Sat. afternoon I went to the movies with Joyce Bloch, a very pretty girl with a lot of wit to see "M. Beaucaire" with Bob Hope - very funny & an interlude & from there on home. It sounds so funny to hear of the cold weather in D.C. while we swelter in our winter clothes! Had no time & missed both Harvard teas.

Love. Doris
P.S. Made a heck of a mess of that test!
