North Pole, Aug. 15, 1934.

Dear Doris:

Yesterday I got back from a long trip with Pluto [[strikethrough]] and Santa [[/strikethrough]] and Santa Claus and found several letters from you. I know you will be interested in hearing about our trip. We heard from the Esquimaux that some queer kind of animal lived on a little island about two days trip from here. So Santa and I loaded the dog sled with frozen seal meat and whale blubber and took Pluto and set out. We drove hard for two days through a snowstorm but finally got there safely. Then we caught a small seal and tied the sled to him and made him ferry us across the water to the [[strikethrough]] seal [[/strikethrough]] island. As we came near we heard loud bellows, and when we got to the beach we were surrounded by a crowd of dragons. They were little fellows, but very curiously formed. They have a big round head like a melon with 4 little red eyes set around it. Their ears are long and pointed, and their mouths are small and round. The [[strikethrough]] body [[/strikethrough]] neck is long and slender and the body is round like the head, but much larger. The tail is long and snaky and has 3 little bells on the end. They feed only on sardines which they [[strikethrough]] cat [[/strikethrough]] attract by dragging the tail in the water. When the sardines come up they twist around very suddenly and grab an armful of them. We brought two of them away with us and I plan to bringthem back with me in my airship when I [[strikethrough]] came [[/strikethrough]] come south.

Unfortunately, we are still so busy that I see no chance of getting down to Washington for a long time yet. I will write you again if I see any chance of getting down before Christmas.

Your friend,
Mickey Mouse
