[[image]] WHAT the WOMAN will WEAR TO eyes grown accustomed to watching necklines climb higher and higher, closing in grimly about the throat, it is no surprise to find an occasional smart chin disappearing into retirement these winter evenings behind a neck ruff or a fluff of raggy flowers massed high above the normal female collar line. [[image]] (2) Hiding The Chin In the sketch shown at the head of this column there appears a gown the designer of which took no chances. Both ruff and posies are used in this case to make a snug little nest for the chin, with devastating effect. The flowers used here are white velvet (replaceable at a moment's notice by gardenias from the squire of the evening) - lovely against that long black velvet sheath of a gown, which is quite backless by way of compensation for all the piling on of chest protection in front. The skirt hangs to the floor all around, sweeping up the dust a bit in achieving the necessary effect of being just a little too long. There is a train, too, small and manageable, but regal none the less. The whole sweeping length, from chin ruff to hem, takes inches off your width and adds them to your height. Not an ounce or ten ounces of jade or gold or translucent amber essence, crystal-clad...but the soul of a flower - like La Rose Jacqueminot; or the warmth of June sun - like L'Aimant; or delicate, high-hearted Spring loveliness - like Paris. With Coty, perfume blending is very much more than chemistry - it's superb Art. The clever woman appreciates that Coty odeurs bring refreshment and radiance to their users - contributing that lilt to the heart, that lift to the spirit, which communicates itself to her associates. Coty fragrances endure. A man may think that he is indifferent to such things, but a woman knows better! She realizes that Coty Perfumes are among the most lovely and famous in all the world - and rightly she prefers them to heighten her own glamour.
