Dear Doris:

I don't know whether you are in Stoughton this week or not. You will have to get that cot bed off pretty quick or it won't be here when you arrive. So I hope you went out this weekend.   As the weather is and has been, I have my doubts about how far the spring will be along down in the Carolinas, even there. But there are 3 weeks yet, and it may be we shall have our usual balmy week in March that will send everything forward.  Today is so chilly. There is snow all around us, but we didn't get the promised 5 inches,- missed it by only 25 miles. At Richmond there was 7 inches fall yesterday. It snowed here during
the morning, then cleared off sunny. Today is sunny but the wind blows off the snows about from the cold north w.

Dolores called up yesterday. She has been home sick with a sort of epidemic that is going about. All her family had it,- a diarrhea with considerable abdominal pain. She missed a test and had to read a Scott novel before Tuesday, so she felt rather low.  I told her you were coming down & that cheered her up.

Billy Dodge came in for his usual "Collect for the Stars", and stood and talked about Eric and the sailors for a long while. They are going to have a race with Princeton and someone
else he said. Their trouble was they couldn't beg, borrow or steal any boats. Billy is quite an enthusiast over Eric and his interests and always dwells on him at some length, I don't know why.

Dad and I went to the Biolog. Soc. last night stopping on the way to pay Helen a visit. She is still at the Emergency and fears they won't discharge her
