she is going to move back to Virginia just as soon as she can find a place. I wish Sophy didn't get "put out" with people so much. Tillie says that she "doesn't wear well", and it seems so at the Museum. She has gotten up a little (Russian) reputation for being "gripey". Still she has a good head and is very likeable when she doesn't have one of these spells on. She has made enemies of not a few of the Museum people, and some like, Mrs Willis, are very bitter against her. I have never done anything that seemed to irritate her, maybe because I have been rather aloof and don't see too much of her, and lay it on rather thick when I do. She is always wanting to be approved and praised. Dad has gone out to join Bobbie's father in shovelling. I hope he doesn't wear himself all out with this unusual exercise. We have been invited again to the Science Talent Banquet at the Stabler the 4th of March. I hope the eats are better than they were when I had that duck that seemed like a wooden one 2 years ago. I can't recall last year. That is the way, -- we don't remember the nice things but do the horrid ones. I do recall how snappy a speech Dr. Shapley gave and how I disliked Dr. Setzler's fair lady with her supercilious nose who sat across from me. I hope I don't meet her again. What did Helen think of your place? Do you know both her cousins by sight? Are you still in the History conference group? What are you having in your lab work in botany and who supervises it? When does Miss Deichmann leave? Love Mother.
