RULES OF CONTEST
1.--Six prizes are offered for the best solution to the great mystery serial: "The Strange Case of Anton LaRue." The first of the four installments of this story will appear in the April issue of ABBOTT'S MONTHLY, and the concluding installment in the July issue.

2.--After the appearance of the May issue (on April 20th), solutions may be submitted, but solutions received before this date will not be considered. All solutions must be received by ABBOTT'S MONTHLY before midnight of June 5th to receive consideration. The final installment of "The Strange Case of Anton LaRue," printed in the July issue (out June 20th), will solve the mystery.

3.--The awards will be made to the contestants according to their accuracy in solving "The Strange Case of Anton LaRue" as the plot is developed by the author, Albert G. Barnett. Literary merit is not essential, as the awards will go to the contestants for their detective ability, and for their reasoning power in solving the mystery.

4.--Solutions must be no longer than two hundred (200) words; must be typewritten on one side of the paper, and contestant's name must be typed in the upper left hand corner.

5.--The prizes will be awarded as follows:  
First prize................$25.00
Second prize..........15.00
Third prize...........10.00
Fourth prize ..Two Years' Subscription
Fifth prize....One Year's Subscription
Sixth prize.....Six Months' Subscription
If two or more contestant tie for any reward, duplicate prizes will go to each contestant.
6.--All solutions must be addressed to: The Mystery Editor, ABBOTT'S MONTHLY, 3435 Indiana Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.
7.--No winning solutions will be returned to contestants, but all other solutions will be returned upon request provided sufficient postage is sent. No inquiries will be answered regarding contest. All foregoing rules must be complied with in order to have solutions considered. The contest is open to every one except employees of ABBOTT'S MONTHLY or THE CHICAGO DEFENDER, and members of their families. You do not have to be a monthly subscriber or even a purchaser of ABBOTT'S MONTHLY to compete in this contest. You may consult copies wherever you have access to them. Such as public libraries, etc.
Solutions may be sent in from April 20th up to midnight of June 5th when the contest closes.[[/boxed text]]
