Dear Doris:

Dolores' mother called around by here yesterday to see if we were home.  She said it was Dolores' first day of school.  She hadn't had her tonsils out yet, hadn't been able to arrange it somehow.  D. is taking piano lessons and practising at the church & wants to buy a piano.  Her mother thinks it rather foolish and wishes she would concentrate on getting thru college.  I think so too, but realize D. has always wanted to, and if she gets it out of her system by taking a few lessons, maybe it would satisfy her.  She is registering for 3 courses, but her mother didn't say which ones, and I will have to call D. up to talk it over more at length.

Dad had only 5 show up at his botany class last night and said he wouldn't give it.  He doesn't want to anyhow and that number wouldn't pay him enough to make it worth his time.  I am glad that he won't have to be out late that night all winter.

I have been staying around home the past 2 days and shall continue to do so this week at least.  I just sleep and sleep,- slept 9 hrs last night and after breakfast lay down and slept till 10 o'clock.  I guess I need to.  Have washed out all my
