sweaters today and mended Dad's pants and been up to the store.  I will go down to get your typewriter ribbon later, maybe Thursday.

I had a card from Helen that they had just started off on a 10-day trip out to Missouri, but she would see me as soon as they returned.

I thought of you going to the Phillips Brooks Tea yesterday - and tonight you hear Wallace.  Ed. Murrow is broadcasting at 7.45 now.  You must listen to him if you can find which station.

Mrs. Douglas has recently gone back to work.  The black dog has disappeared, - no dogs at all there.  I guess feeding got too expensive.  The Pennys have sold out & moved to Annandale and a family from Pittsburgh, Pa. with 3 little children live there.  Otherwise the neighborhood seems as usual.

It has been so cool that we have had a fire since Sunday.  Frosts predicted tonight.  I hope you are warm enough up there.  Has Louise put in her appearance?  Do get your rest and don't be too wasteful of your energies.  How do you like the shift in time?
