go down with Ina. (After having taken out & stored winter clothes . . and cleaned as much as possible; cut grass; and gone to a Pops concert with [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] a representative in the Mass. legislature & to at least one square dance with Dick.. Dex has a friend there.) That is, if everything works out properly. I shan't stay with her over a week if that. We'll see New York at least one day; and the surrounding countryside. Then home. I had thought of inviting her down the time when Dolores was away. As soon as I get home to Va. I'll try to get a job on the paper; then at the other place; lastly at the Museum. I'd like to work mornings, sleep afternoons & read evenings if hot weather persists. That's just about as definite a program as I can lay down from here & now.

[[strikethrough]] I'm [[/strikethrough]] Your instruction in the battle tactics of Gettysburg must have been enlightening; there wasn't an old parrot of a fellow as in St. Augustine, I hope? Glad you had a good [[strikethrough]] Mon [[/strikethrough]] outing. Hope Dolores' strawberry patch is still standing after the frost. Dad, what is it that makes one petal of a tulip (rare occurrance) green and leafy, and attached further down on [[strikethrough]] pecticel [[/strikethroigh]] stem then other petals? I saw two like that.

Love,
Doris
