member of the Early Birds organization.  Later he was credited with selecting the site and helping to establish the Billings Airport.  He kept his plane for many years, then finally had it destroyed, fearing that someone might some day attempt to fly it and be injured.

Dr. Bell passed away at Billings on November 5, 1957, at age 77.  At that time he was the only Early Bird in the State of Montana.  He was survived by a son.

Flying Pioneer, Early Bird Dr. Frank J. Bell was an unusual example of a professional man who flew for the pure sport of it and to regain his health, thus helping to establish his place in early American aviation history.
