Exhibition Flyers. On July, he joined the Sloan School at Hemptstead, Long Island, where he had some instruction on monoplanes under George M. Doytt, following which he was booked for exhibition engagements by the Sloan Company, and at the same time was made on of their flight instructors on imported Deperdussin monoplanes with French Anzani engines.
   During the remaining summer and fall months of 1912 he appeared throughout the New England states and around New York. In late November the Sloan School moved to Los Angeles for the winter months, where he continued as instructor, did passenger carrying and made several notable cross-country flights, one of which was March 23rd, 1913, from Los Angeles to San Diego, 120 miles in 108 minutes with a passenger, a Sloan School student, Miss Margaret Stahl. THe flight was in the school Deperdussin monoplane, and the return flight made March 25th. 
   The school returned to Long Island in May where Bonney was again booked for exhibition flying in addition to instruction duties. The Sloan Company also imported the French "Caudron" monoplane at this time, which he began flying. In November he join the Boland Airplane Company as their test pilot, but continued to be bookby the Sloan Company for exhibition flights. During the spring and summer of 1914 he continued doing flight test and exhibition work, using his French Caudron monoplane. In the spring and summer of 1815 he was engaged in flight tests and demonstrations flying 80 h.p. Gnome engined Moisant Monoplanes.
   In May 1915, Bonney was an instructor at the Curtiss Flying School, Newport News, Virginia, then in July he joined the General Airplane Company, Detroit Michigan, as company test pilot, school instructor and demonstrator. In December he went with the New York Aero Construction Company as test pilot on the new twin-motored hydro plane. 
   He was still flying for them in March, 1917. Later that season he became on of the senior instructors for the Army Aviation School at Mineola, New York. He also did some flying for the Long Island Coast Patrol. Due to his age he was not commissioned, but continued to serve as a
