clear of a plane during loops, Immelman turns and tail spins, first to jump at altitudes under 200 feet, first to do wing walking and perform trapeze stunts from wing skids and landing gear, first to change from plane to train and return to plane, and first to change from one plane to another without use of a ladder. He did countless serial acts of all kinds for numerous movies for Marshall Neilan, Cecil B. DeMille, Katherine McDonald and the old Flying "A" Studios.

In 1923 Campbell added new thrills when he started racing cars and doing stunt driving, but aviation was still in his blood and he kept dreaming of an aeroplane he would like to build. After completing plans to his satisfaction, Campbell obtained the backing of the R. O. Bone Company of Los Angeles in July, 1928, and in 35 days the first experimental plane was ready for flight tests. Called the "Golden Eagle" it was a 2-place side-by-side dual-control externally braced high-wing monoplane of 28 foot span, weighing 1050 pounds fully loaded. It was powered with a 60 H.P. Anzani engine. Campbell flew it three times the first day without a single adjustment. A second plane was completed thirteen days later. A distinct success from the start, it was exhibited and flown at the Los Angeles Aeronautical Exposition and National Air Races at Mines Field in September, 1928. At that time five more planes were in process, using 60 H.P. Velie engines. On Januar 20th, 1929, Bobby Trout established a new womens' endurance record of 12 hours, 11 minutes at Los Angeles with one of these planes. On February 1st Elinor Smith broke this record by flying 12 hours, 16 minutes, then on February 12th Miss Trout won the record back with a flight of 18 hours, 5 minutes, again flying a Golden Eagle monoplane. Unfortunately, further sales diminished and the company discontinued the project.

In 1929 Campbell designed and built the Pelican glider. In 1930 he built the Campbell Super Sport plane, using a Kinner engine see enclosed copy of Aviation report. Following this for a time Campbell was Assistant Chief Engineer of Kinner Motor Company,
