class by himself, and at his famous air shows he could always be counted upon to keep the crowds well entertained and absorbed with his rapidly moving programs. Aviation history must well record his many remarkable achievements for few indeed contributed more to its progress. 
        
Earl S. Daugherty held a commission as Lieutenant United States Naval Air Service Reserve and was decorated by the Italian Government for his valued services during World War I. He was a member of the Long Beach Elks, the Southern California Aero Club, Professional Pilots Association and the National Aeronautic Association.
