Flying Pioneer, Early Bird Ralph C. Diggins was well known throughout the early aviation industry and was a close friend of general William "Billy" Mitchell. Self-taught pilot on the first plane he himself built, he went on to become an expert aviator, instructor and successful business manager. He accomplished much for the growing aviation industry by prompting flying and the use of aircraft, as well as teaching hundreds of students to fly.
