22nd where he had a minor mashup when he hit an unseen telephone line, but was not injured. That fall, between engagements, Havens began  to practice water flying while on trips to Hammondsport. November 5th and 6th he flew at the Fair Grounds, Fort Smith, Arkansas with Lincoln Beachey, where he carried authorized mail both days. The next exhibition was at Marlin and Temple, Texas, following which he flew at the Houston Carnival, Houston, Texas for three days with Walsh, Godet and Len Bonney. Havens then exhibited at the Texas State Fair, Dallas, Texas from November 14th to 19th. November 27th and 28th he was at Savannah, Georgia where again he carried mail.

From December 22nd, 1977 until January 3rd 1912 Havens flew with Beachey, Godet and Walsh at Havana, Cuba. The exhibitions were given at Camp Columbia, Military headquarters of the Island, and a large number of Cuban army officers attended. Their flying attracted wide attention and the City of Havana appropriated prize money for three major events - the carrying of military officers, greatest altitude attained during the meet and a 14-mile race to Morro Castle and return. Havens received much acclaim and was presented with a pearl watch by the City. Following this Havens reportedly exhibited at Santiago, Cuba.

Returning to Florida he took up water flying and demonstrated Curtiss Hydros for a time, carrying passengers and putting on exhibitions at winter resorts. On February 14th, 1912 Havens became amember [[a member]] of the Aero Club of America. March 16th he started flying a new 75 H.P. Curtiss at the Nassau Boulevard Flying Field on Long Island and remained there the balance of the month. On April 1st he flew with Walsh at a Bridge Dedication Ceremony at Fort Smith, Arkansas. That spring Havens again became a member of the 1912 Curtiss Exhibition Team, and between engagements acted as an instructor at Hammondsport. He also did considerable demonstration flying that year. The latter park of May Havens started flying at an amusement par at Bridgeport,
