Shortly after his death the Heath Company was dissolved and the airfield abandoned. Later some of his former associates took over the business and it was moved to Niles, Michigan where it continued to operate for some time.
Flying Pioneer, Early Bird Edward B. Heath was generally recognized everywhere as the "Dean" of American light plane designers and pilots of his era. Well known, he had operated his small but growing business continuously for over twenty years. A small, energetic, hard working man, he fought adversity through the many early lean years of his enterprise to meet with a sudden ending when all was going well. His passing was a distinct loss to the cause of early light plane development which he had pioneered so capably. His name will always be remembered for his efforts to provide an aeroplane within the reach of any one who wanted to fly.
