The Heinrich Brothers pioneer aviation biographies should be recorded jointly, because from the start they worked together and their early ac-complishments were made as a team.
Their father, Julius Heinrich, was a renowned horticulturist, landscape artist and florist who was in charge of this work for the Jameston, St. Louis and Chicago Expositions of that early era. The boys assisted their father in this work and learned the trade, but at an early age their interests turned more to mechanics. During their youth the family moved to Baldwin, Long Island where they established a florist business. Their mechanical interests soon led the brothers to boat building and they designed, built and operated some of the fastest craft on the South Shore of Long Island.
