. Heth's parents were there to see him fly and he took his father up for a ride. While there he also carried authorized mail. Following this he made flights at his home town of Birmingham, Mich. on June 5th and gave his father another ride. On July 4th through 7th Heth was back at Lexington, Ky. for a second engagement and shortly after this he made some flights from the river at Louisville, Ky, with floats on his plane. Also while there he made some night flights. On August 7th they flew at Berrien Springs, Michigan and August 11th and 12th at South Bend, Indiana, then on September 6th at the Rock County Fair at Evansville, Wisconsin. From there they went to Cicero Field, Chicago, Illinois where they were entered in the 1912 Air Meet from September 12th to 21st. Following this they exhibited at Edwardsville, Illinois for seven days and on October 19th were at Little Rock, Arkansas, then back to Montgomery, Alabama for one week at the Alabama State Fair. There, on October 23rd, Mitchell met with a fatal accident while giving an exhibition of tight spiraling as a finale of his flight. Heth, who was flying above him at the time, witnessed the crash from the air and landed as quickly as possible near the wreckage and assisted in caring for his close friend and flying partner. Heth completed the balance of their engagement there alone and continued on with their flying commitments. At the time of Mitchell's death Heth had made over 120 flights with him during their exhibition work together. In December Heth returned to his home in Birmingham, Michigan for the winter.

In May, 1913 Heth announce he would fly a Gnome-motored tractor aeroplane for the International Exhibition Co. for the season, and in July that year he made his headquarters at Cicero Field, Chicago, Illinois, flying exhibitions from there. Later in the season he was flying exhibitions for William Gabriel and was at Dublin, Georgia one week beginning November 7th.

In 1914 he was again flying exhibitions and carrying passengers and in June was making two flights a day at an amusement park in Wilson, N. C. After completing that engagement he gave three flights a day for a time at Harrisburg, Pa. July 24th and 25th Heth flew at Connellsville, PA., and on August 1st he was at Uniontown, PA., then to Shady Grove, Pa. for two days.
