He was a Founder Member of the Early Birds, a Shriner, member of the Institute of Aeronautical Sciences, and National Aeronautic Association, as well as a mesber of the Dayton Engineers Club and Kiwanis.

Flying Pioneer, [[crossed out]] Early Bird [[/crossed out]] Edward A. Johnson had a very distinctive career in early American aviation history and contributed much towards its progressive development.  A very competent and active pilot, he established and conducted a successful aircraft and flying business for several years and was well known and highly respected throughout the industry.
