out was at Des Moines, Iowa on August 24th flying a Curtiss-type plane, along with Paul Studensky and Marcel Tournier, where he had a crash due to tricky winds, but was not hurt. They then flew at the Minnesota State Fair at Minneapolis for one week, ending September 7th. From there they went to the South Dakota State Fair at Huron from September 9th to 14th, and following this returned to Chicago to enter the Grant Park Meet from September 16th to 23rd. In that event Robinson entered all the major contests and was awarded third place for his total flying time during the Meet. He was then flying the large Beech-National Biplane using a Roberts-6 engine. He finished the season with National and kept up his flying practice during the winter months. 

In the spring of 1913 Robinson opened the season at Cicero on April 16th by flying the National Aeroplane Company's imported French Nieuport monoplane for the first time, followed by a 50-minute cross country flight and return. He fell in love with this little plane and continued flying it almost daily at Cicero through April, and also signed up again for exhibition engagements with National for the season. In May he flew a Lillie-Wright again for the first time since taking his license tests the previous summer, and began doing some instructing for Lillie when needed, but continued practicing on the Nieuport. He also did considerable passenger carrying for Lillie through June. 

On July 4th Robinson flew a 50 [[strikethrough]] H.P. [[/strikethrough]] h.p., Gnome Tractor, belonging to Eugene Heth, at Malvern, Iowa to fill an exhibition date. On July 12th he flew the Nieuport from Cicero to Wheaton, Illinois and return for an exhibition there, and continued flying Nieuports through July. They had two machines, one with 2-cyclinder opposed Nieuport engine and one with a 3-cylinder Anzani engine; [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] he flew these through August giving almost daily exhibitions at Cicero. August 22nd to 25th he test-flew a new Partridge tractor with a Kirkham 6-cylinder engine for the first time, making three flights. Flying Nieuports, September 17th through 20th he flew at Lansing, Michigan making two flights each day. October 1st he started flying the Lillie Tractor with 50 h.p., Gnome engine at Cicero, then took it to Canada for some exhibition and cross country flights there.
