Bikini Atoll prior to the bomb tests of last summer. Their collections will serve as a check on any possible changes in subsequent generations of the animals found there due to the effects of the experiments.

Many important accessions come to the Institution, among which there may be mentioned the gift of a very fine collection of Staffordshire china presented by Mrs. Ellouise Baker Larsen. This collection is one of the finest in the country and when received will give the Institution a nearly complete representation in this interesting historical field.

Mrs. Abigail W. Kawananakoa, of the family of former rulers of Hawaii, left as a bequest to the Institution several royal Hawaiian feather robes and other objects. The robes are among the finest of their kind.
