SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION 1276

National Zoological Park. The attendance of 2,730,000 visitors at the National Zoological Park for the year ended June 30, 1947, is the second largest in its history. Ocellated turkeys from Petén, tarsiers from the Philippine Islands, and six species of penguins mark recent outstanding exhibitions.
