TECHNICAL AREAS of INVESTIGATION - follow & critique the day-to-day findings of the technical investigation teams- those analyzing data, test results & photos, & performing computer simulations, load analysis, & relevant calculations.
[I'd see this as a large subcommittee possibly the entire committee, but with one or 2 points of contact talking directly  & NASA investigators. Note: a staff person assigned to KSC to work & understand techical issues would be very helpful]

WEATHER - investigate all aspects of launch day weather (temperature, winds, ice) & how those factors were analyzed before decision to launch.
