Sept 12

Dear folks,

Was I pleased to be lucky tonight: going to see Maud I saw a boy ride up. I walked upstairs after him, wondering, as did he when peeping now & then (rather dusky out), but we both arrived at the same bed: Bobby, age 14. He was put to a severe test by Maud: she asked a lot of questions, & he is at a very reserved age. (Does he have a girlfriend!) I had just resolved to see them, & had just been thinking about it. So I invited him to some football games in Cambridge - he was delighted. He seemed to like math and sciences, tho' not so much his teachers; plays football; hadn't enjoyed the fair much: all he likes is the Ferris Wheel: an admission. Also told how he sneaked in free: honest. Good kid, I want to see more of them. Mrs. B back, spoke of cake several times. Worked hard in Cambridge.

Love,
Doris
