April 20, 1949 Dear folks, Your postcards have been inviting. Especially the cyprus swamp, the sky and water being truthful; & recollections of yellow-bellied crisscross barred fish from therein. Tis cool if sunny here, has rained every day or two. Magnolia mountains were grand. We went to "Medea" Monday night & shall to a concert tonight. I think we shall fight tonight, I feel very aggressive & he always does. Fun. People have been battling all over the place: sophisticated Annabelle Handy doing ju-jitsu in the streets, dignified house president Levy (Alexia Livermore) having a magazine fight which just about tore up the living room last night. If we don't, it won't be worth it -- cause everyone is letting off steam or suffering now as papers - exams approach. Georgette notes the dining hall pitch rising nightly. I had a good sleep for a change, 8 hours at night & 4 more this morning: began [[strikethrough]] getting [[/strikethrough]] giving blood again (involuntarily) Monday, which was almost a week too early. Have done lots of work tho despite tiredness: did finish history save for collatoral reading; read 60 poems by Yeats yesterday, a weeks' work. Now a quiz tomorrow in Ec.
