February 13

1978 - Monday - 8° at 6 AM  - Partly sunny - snow predicted for night - wrote letters in morning - Wes to Mary Krone Sells on Charlie's death in January.
Left at 11:45 for Presbyterian (Atchley Pavilion) I had 1:30 appointment with Dr Williamson and 2:30 with Dr Jacobs - Ate lunch in car enroute for Wes - return for me. Home at 5 pm - a good trip - snow started at 9 pm

1979 - Tuesday - 0° at 6:45 AM. Fair - cold day - high about 14º. We tried to free laundry pipes - no luck. Did a small wash by carrying hot water to machine. Wes went to bank to exercise car - deposit JCP checks. UPS delivered third bird plate.
Hobbied balance of day.
Light dusting of snow over night - Wes scraped it off driveway & terrace - about 1/2 inch.

1980 - Wednesday. at Treasure Cay with Holmdens. Beautiful day. Grocery shopped. Walked beach. Joan & Hooker walked to point for shells - good pickings of sand dollars. Wes also found interesting shells. I rested to get over cold.  Took Brills (Mary Louise & Dick) mother Louise, Joseph and Peggy Bam to luncheon at Spinnaker. No stamps at Post Office. Visited library. Learned about Red Legged Thrush & two kinds of hummingbirds - Bahama Woodstar & Cuban Emerald (common - not colorful)

1981 - Friday - 7° at 6:30. Sun 6:53 - 5:28. Fair Cold day.
Mr Gerard of St Charles Kitchen here at 9:30 with kitchen plan - Mike Mannion came a bit later. Went over proposal. Mike stayed until noon to discuss house plans. Lunch - went with Mike to Weston to see Greenhouse with pool in construction. Shopped at Brunetti's & Grand Central enroute home.

1982 - Saturday. 22° at 6:30. Cloudy - gloomy day. This cold weather tiresome!
Day of chores and hobbies - only Wes went out for wood and to fill the bird feeders. Well driller didn't come. Worked on crossword puzzle. I cut out blue cotton dress. 

February 14

1978 - Tuesday - 24° at 6 AM - Snowing. Wes took car to Brewster for "90,000" despite snow which continued until noon. I shoveled half of driveway (for car to return) and terrace. Temperature rose to 32 degrees and ice melted. To Ancient Mariner for Valentine's Day lunch with Helen & Alex. Harris seed delivered - last lunch of seeds. Wes plowed driveway. Good day.

1979 - Wednesday - Minus 10° at 7 AM - high during day was 14° - exactly 0° at bedtime - 11 pm. Mostly clear.
Left "Ridgefield Press" newsclipping on Dr. Gabriella Varga in Varga's mailbox - on to cleaners - liquor store - Stop & Shop to library to make copies of Gilloti and Apex bills for income tax. Home for martinis for Valentine's Day - lunch & nap. Hobbies all afternoon. Edward the King and Julius Caesar on TV in evening.

1980 - Thursday - Treasure Cay with Holmdens - some clouds in morning - cleared in afternoon - rain during night.
Walked down past former schoolhouse - beautiful house at end of road - no hummingbirds. Walked beach. Late lunch and drinks. More walking - signed up for taxi tomorrow for Joan & Hooker. Grouper for dinner. Read paperbacks before bed.

1981 - Saturday - 8° at 6 AM - Fair beautiful winter day. Hobby hour - I cooked chicken for tomorrow - made a pie. We cleaned house. Wes went to Bogus Road for wood. Mike Mannion brought some logs down in his truck. Took greens from livingroom window. To Billie Newell's at 5:15 for a cocktail party.

1982 - Sunday - 18° at 6:15 AM - Partly sunny - the plants were moved to the Solar Room at 10:45. To 8 o'clok Mass. Eileen came up with Miss Boo at 11 o'clock - had a happy day talking - cocktail in Solar - curried chicken breast for dinner - Eileen brought bread - freezias - primulas - large flowered scilla - booklets on Ireland. She left at 4:30 We had a nap - read papers - soup - last episode of "Flame Trees of Thika." 
1982- Sunday. 18° at 6:15 AM- Partly sunny - the plants were moved to the Solar Room at 10:45. to 8 o'clock max. Eileen came up with Miss Boo at 11 o'clock - had a happy day talking - cocktail in Solar - curried chicken breast for dinner - Eileen brought bread - [[?]] large flowered [[?]] - booklet on Ireland. She left at 4:30 We had a nap - read paper - soup - last episode of "Flame Trees of Thika".
