February 9

1983 - Wednesday - 18° at 7 AM - Clear. Sun 6:59-5:25
Sunny — cold — windy — Eileen here until after breakfast. We unpacked - pushed snow from Solar roof - there was quite a crust on it. Shoveled front walk and pushed snow from deck. After lunch went for gasoline (better than 26 mile to gallon on trip) had car washed - brake light warning came on for first time - bananas from Wooster village.

1984 - Thursday - 23° at 6 AM - Cloudy. Sun 6:58-5:22. To Mass. Shopped Waldbaums - Wes had car washed - left vacuum (shop) for switch repair - bought pearl earrings at Howlands - soil for syringias at Woolworths — cleared out some old magazines - getting a lot of catalogs. Too cold to eat lunch in Solar but sun came out about 2 pm and put bulbs out there then. Shop work for Wes - too cold and damp to take the walk I wanted to for exercise.

1985 - Saturday - 10° at 6 AM - Fair - Mostly sunny. windy - chill factor was under zero — sun 6:57-5:23. Out only to fill feeders - get mail etc.
Discovered flat tire - Wes changed it to the spare. That's the 3rd one this season - twice in same tire.
Cleaned house - Wes studied plans for new locomotive - I did a little sewing - washed hair.
We went to McKeons at 6:45 - they drove to Ada Franken's for birthday dinner for Louise McKeon - Neligans and Gene Colley (North Salem) there — Home at 11:30.

1986 - Sunday - 20° at 6:30 - Sun 7:00-5:21 - only saw it for a few moments at noon. Cloudy - cold day. To 8 o'clock Mass. Quiet day - out only to fill feeders. getting over flu - tummy feels bad - Wes aches. checked tax figures and checks - read papers

1987 - Monday - 34° at 7 AM - Snowing - report for a storm - 2 inches - high wind. Snow ended about 11 AM — 3 inches — We raked and shoveled - everything but the deck - windy. Early soup and nap. To Union Trust in Danbury - safe deposit box - took out Niagara Mohawk Stock Certificates - put in CPC and Ameritech stock splits - Wes picked up blood pressure pills - to Marcus for milk - phoned Prudential Bache's Alison Rowe to sell Niagara Mohawk. Home to fill feeders - keep warm - our colds/cough a little better.


February 10

1983 - Thursday - 8° at 6 AM - Sunny, cold winter day. To Mass. To Yarnbee to show them directions for making box pillow - stamps at Post Office - Brunetti's for meat - bought nightie at Candlelight for my birthday - to Reclamation - nothing at Talbots - Stop & Shop & Liquor. Home for lunch in Solar - also tea there so on a sunny day heat is there longer - Wes in shop - I worked on tax records.

1984 - Friday - 23° at 6:15 - clear. Sun 6:57-5:23. Beautiful day until 5 PM when it clouded up.
I went to hear Priscilla Galpen of Oliver Nursery at Ballard Coach House - bought geranium at Greenhouse at their mini-Plant sale. Wes in shop - split wood. Worked on tax figures. I took a walk down to Allen's corner - noticed a new Bogus Road sign at Judson's corner. Shoveled snow from deck - Temperature over 40°.  
No sign of deer on our side of road, thank God.

1985 - Sunday - 17° at 6:45. Clear. Sun 6:56-5:25. Sunny day - in 30° - wind diminishing.
Quiet day - to 8 o'clock Mass - some house chores - I made a lemon pie - roasted the chicken - did some sewing - called Mr Long in Miami Heart Institute - he is doing OK after a knee replacement. Wes in shop. We went out only to feed the birds - I pushed snow from deck - frozen in spots - should have done it sooner.

1986 - Monday - 19° at 7 AM — Sun 6:58-5:23. Cloudy most of day - some sun mid afternoon. To Waldbaum's - Wes had a haircut - had car washed - left prints at Sturdevants for duplicates - Marcus for milk.  
Home to shovel front walk - loaded with snow and ice - later we cleaned off deck.
Wes returned to shop - first time in a week - shows he is feeling better. My tummy improving - still coughing.

1987 - Tuesday - 12° at 7 AM - Fair - partly cloudy mid morning on - sun never out long. 
I worked at Greenhouse in morning, stopping for birdfood at Young's enroute.  Anne Tracy brought her Topiary Cat there for me to mend during their vacation. Wes did more snow shoveling. Oil delivery - 377.1 gals @ 89.9¢. 
After lunch & nap, we went to Sew & Sew Fabric - The pattern they were holding for me I already had - but bought material for skirt and blouse.
