March 24 

1983 - Thursday - 23° at 6 AM - Clear. Sun hits house about 6:20. Sunny day but very windy and cold - hard to go back to winter after last week's spring look. 
To Mass. To Danbury Lumber on kitchen hall door - none there - on to Stevenson Lumber off Route 34 enroute New Haven - ordered it there - delivery one week. After lunch Wes took down stump at wood pile - opened stove fan. I ironed napkins and tablecloth for Sunday. Cooked and froze Seafood Medallions. To Ada Franken for Mary Luke's Birthday party - picking up Billie at 6:45

1984 - Saturday - 26° at 6 AM. Fair - beautiful day. High 48° but warm sun - opened doors to livingroom 
Did a wash - cleaned house - very dusty - to Marcus for NY Times - lunch - nap - moved Jade Plant into Solar and two hanging plants - raked lawns of millions of small sticks - discussed placement of Kousa when moved - walked down cliff path - in good shape but has lots of leaves covering it

1985 - Sunday - 39° at 6:30 - Cloudy - walked Boo. To 8 o'clock Mass. Cleared about noon - cold but not bad. I planted the Antirrhinum Frontier White seeds that came from Kennedy yesterday - also more Cleome White and Globe Basil - did it carefully putting in one at a time. Wes worked in shop. After lunch & nap we went over the cliff down path to bottom - open now since we cleared it. Wes worked at digging hole at north rock. I cleared rocks from road above mailbox, put them in ditch down to bog. Gala of Stars on Channel 13 at night - good.

1986 - Monday - 36° at 6:30 - Fair.  Sun 5:55 - 6:10 
Wes is feeling a little better - he went for a haircut - rested and studied his camera books.
I took Myrtus Communis standard - silver spoons - top of Japanese vase to Anne Tracy's - planned more on RGC meeting Wednesday. Anne had set up chairs - table.
Home to clean pots of forced bulbs with [[?loon]] Anne - out to fill feeders - plant Tete-a-tete daffodils finished blooming - composted a couple of primulas

1984 - Tuesday - 32° at 6AM - Fair - beautiful day sunny & warm - we didn't check the temperature but didn't need sweaters in the afternoon. To Mass - I picked up Helen and went to Garden Club meeting at Franny Scott's - took Amaryllis and Rosemary Wreath - first for both. Home for lunch and nap. Wes had raked leaves from North Slope - marcissi appearing there. Picked up stakes - leaves from front walk raked south lawn and bog water course. To Mission Service at 8 pm in church.  Joan phoned - She is home from hospital - tests results Friday


March 25

1983 - Friday - 22° at 6:30. Cloudy - cleared to sunny, cold, very windy day - Wes went out to split wood, fill feeders and straighten wood pile in afternoon - I was in all day. Cleaning - polishing - made Brownies, cut out lining for long skirt.
Wes worked in shop - polished andirons - he is keeping his shop neat - looks good with the window shades.

1984 - Sunday - 26° at 6 AM - Cloudy until late afternoon - cold - Not an outdoor day. To 8 o'clock Mass. Read papers. Planted Bush Basil and Tomato Seeds - leaving plants in Solar now overnight with door to kitchen open. Wes in shop. Upstairs smoke alarm battery making "bleeps". Saw 2 Raccoons under suet feeder. Red Bellied Woodpecker comes to suet

1985 - Monday - 29° at 6:30 - Fair - Walked Boo. Cold, high wind - not warm at all.
Wes went for plywood to make Wood Duck Box from plans Miles Atkin sent us - he worked on that - a big job. I shampooed hair - cleaned pot of 'Garden Party' tulips to take to club meeting tomorrow. Picked up Edith Meffley at 1 pm and drove to Oliver Nursery - looked at plants for Memorial Garden - home at 4:30. Wes had already taken Boo out for her walk - I caught up to them

1986 - Tuesday - 24° at 6:10 - Sunny - NYC had 41° - can't understand it; very unusual difference. To Mass. I made the Apricot Bread and Zucchini Bread cream cheese sandwiches for the RGC meeting tomorrow - a big job. Later took them - all cookies - pots of forced bulbs to Anne Tracy - Home for lunch.  Wes had been in his shop for a short while - rested - feeling better but still hacking up phlegm. We went for a short walk on Bogus - then walked around our place planning clean ups. I trimmed a few trees.

1987 - Wednesday - 35° at 6 AM - Fair beautiful day - warm - to 65°. To Ridgefield - Hardware for Lavatory Shop brass screws - Squashs for Script envelope - Brunetti - Reclamation - Youngs for bird feed - Stop & Shop - Lunch & nap. Wes outlined path to Garden Room as Tony Ongaro is coming Sunday.  I planted more Pink Snapdragons as first planting not coming up - planted Salvia and Basil.
To church at 8 pm for Mission Service.
We had cooked Shish-Kabob for dinner
