January 22

1988 - Friday - 32°at 6 AM - Sun 7:15 - 5 PM; Mostly sunny day here - NYC & Tarrytown had snow flurries 
To Mass. Worked on costs of stock sales for tax purposes. 
Took our walk to K’s (top of hill - 2.6 miles round trip) After lunch and nap. Wes in shop - I cooked for supper and knitted. Did crossword.

1989 - Sunday - 16° at 6 AM - Full moon last night 
Sun 7:14 - 5:01. To 8 o'clock Mass. Beautiful winter day - little milder than yesterday and less wind
Wes tried to balance checkbook - out $10 00. I read papers - We walked to Henley's. Martini and lunch and nap. I sewed buttonholes in blue dress. Wes suddenly developed a head cold so he rested on sofa. 
I made date/nut small loaves for Tuesday's Garden Club sale.

1990 - Monday - 32° at 6:30 - Sleet - Sun 714 - 501
Terrible weather in morning. Snow until noon - over ice so very slippery. Didn't go to Mass and didn't go to Garden Club meeting - Senator Chaffee of Rhode Island - bake sale - so we have a big cake to keep - trimmed Christmas cactus and Creeping Fig Horse - readied blouse pattern for cutting. Wes in shop. After lunch & nap, raked and shoveled the snow hope the rising temperature will melt ice. Tempanellis returned articles loaned for their party.

1991 - Tuesday - 10° at 6 AM. Sun 715 - 501
Beautiful sunny day but very cold - High was 20° and high wind. To Mass. Crossword - hobbies - 
Took a walk before lunch - couldn't go up Bogus hill near Smith's as too icy, walked up Sophia to Scodon. Wes went to Marcies for milk and to the bank. Hobbies in afternoon. Wes put out bird food for the Cardinals at 4:30 - We enjoy watching them come in before dark.

1992 - Wednesday - Up at 7:40! Good sleeping in morning - Sun 7:15 - 5:00. Sunny not too cold day - No wind. Did crossword. To Mall - Sears for work pants for Wes - Macy's for replacement of wine glass broken on weekend - Not a match for ours so returned it later - eyeglasses for me at Lens Crafter 
Sterling being closed - Cap for Wes' birthday at Wallachs Stop & Shop for plastic containers for soup giveaway Garden Club meeting next week - ginger from Williams Sonoma - good day. Crows stole suet only bad 

January 23

1988 - Saturday - 17° at 7 AM - Clear - Cold but good winter day. House chores. Took our walk to top of Ned Mountain Road - Noticed it was no longer "K's" on mailbox - house has a new deck - driveway and a barking Doberman - agreed wouldn't walk quite as far as leg muscles ached. Tried to take seedlings from covered frame but too frozen in - did bring in 3 pots of Preview of Spring bulbs - they were frozen also. Reception poor on Channel 13 for Miss Marple. Last 2 acts of Othello cancelled at Opera - Someone fell from balcony.

1989. Monday - 24° at 6:15 - Hazy - Sun 7:14 - 5:02 I went to 7:30 Mass - Wes rested his cold - better by end of day. Did a wash - ironed. To drugstore for renewal Wes' eye drops - Stopped at Bonanza to inquire for bus to Boston Flower Show - none - suggested Coach Tours
Home for lunch - nap - sewing. I walked about picking up sticks, etc. Julius Varga took more of logs along road. Much milder in afternoon - about 40° - Prepared paperwhites and cookies for meeting tomorrow.

1990 - Tuesday - 34° at 6 AM - Sliver of moon low on horizon Sun 714 - 5:02. Beautiful morning. Cloudy afternoon
To Mass. Wrote Joan & Hooker - sent check to Garden Club as contribution for sale I missed yesterday.
To Super Stop & Shop - enjoyed shopping there - gasoline at Texaco Route 6 $1.37 gal - left letter from Dreyfus at Prudential Bache (change of name on certificate) home to walk to Allen's Corner - lunch in solar - nap - tied up arborvitae - Wes in shop - then he read - I cut out pink shirt

1991 - Wednesday - 8° at 7 AM - Sun 714 - 502
Cloudy, cold dreary morning - cleared in afternoon and up to 32°.
Crossword - plant chores - bugs on azaleas - aphids - cleaned them off - 
Took a walk to end of Scodon before lunch.
Hobbies in afternoon.
Wes hung the well pulley and bucket. Bucket wood is very light - we hope it will darken.

1992 - Thursday. 34° at 6 AM. Re past years. 
Super Texaco gasoline $1.50/gal - 5¢ more for using credit card - $1.45 for cash. Sun 7:14 - 5:02 (none today)
Raining - some slippery spots. Joe Bickman fell & couldn't get to Mass. Did crossword. George Ventris & son here at 10 to put in door to hay loft. Didn't finish it - looks good. To Dr. Sandler for Wes' eyes - will get new contacts - go back Feb. 27th. Stopped at bank - bought zipper and belting - 8" pan at Pinchbeck - very foggy in spots. Wes in shop and I made chocolate cake with cocoa - also pie.
