September 4

1988 - Sunday 59° at 6 AM - Foggy - Cloudy - Rain started at 9 AM - all day - came in Solar benton [[?]] but not as bad as before we could Wes caulked it
Its 8 o'clock ma. Quiet day - read papers, used vacuum - Wes brought up wood and laid a fire in den dove we forgot to light it! I made bran muffins and oatmeal cookies using fresh Oatmeal

1989 - Labor Day - 48° at 7 AM - Beautiful fog rising over pond - good weather - sunny & cool.
Transplanted small Leucothoe from top big rock to more forward & left under dogwood - [[?]] Cedar of Lebanon in its place - Wes moved [[?]] from wall garden to top of big rock. I made bran muffins using our blueberries - Taveree [[?]] Bars and a Plum Torte which we took to Roses at 6pm. Father T[[?]] there - home at 9:30 & to bed; very tired

1990 - Tuesday - 53° at 6AM - Some god - Beautiful day. To [[?]]. I worked at Ballard in morning - Muriel Pedersen back from vacation. Wes took out big stone to [[?]] path going to top holding beds. He filled in hole in north grass and put grass seed on. Muriel & [[?]] McKenn [[?]] came at 2:30 - we worked until five getting herbs potted for Litchfield show Friday. Boo is better. home now.

1991 - Wednesday - 62° at 7AM - Sun 6:25/7:24 not good weather - looked like rain - only few drops [[?]] after midnight. Wes made diagram of groundcover box of plants for Waheugton [[?]] show. 
I ironed - went to Puielbeck [[?]] for new flower pots for entries - Marcies for milk - cut grass - terrible mole [[?]] - Wes moved big rocks along roadside path to north bed. I transplanted Hosta & daybles [[?]].

1992 - Friday - 64° at 7AM. Foggy - Everything washed clean - leaf chips [[?]]. Mostly sunny day. [[?]] said over 3 weeks of rain - our gauge broken - shows inch only. Tornado had touched down in Stanford and Searsdale - we were lucky. Shopped in morning - gasoline and bank. Transplanted Patridgeberry from Dell to [[?]] area - sope [[?]] "I guess" as it should look altogether. Moved remaining Hostas from under Cornus Kousa in Dell to well area. I cut grass. Picked a lot of crops - gave beans to Gezella [[?]].

1988 - Labor Day - 65° at 7AM - cloudy. - cleared mid-morning to a partly cloudy - sunny day -, were able to work outdoors - unexpectedly. Wes transplanted little spruce to plot near well where wildlfowers were. also moved a small honeysuckle bush there - cleaning up area. I moved Veronica Blue Peter from Triangle to Perennial Garden - putting Donkey's ears on compost to make room - moved Peuk Beebalm to Triangle. Moved Hostas, Ferns & Epimedium in Well Garden. Had our dinner at noon as went to Roses for a drink at 5 pm. Home at 7:15

1989. Tuesday - 49° at 6AM - Surises 6:27 - To man [[?]]. I worked at Ballard in the morning. Wes dug a planting hole on wood knoll (near laronna Rhododendron) and later moved Alberta Spruce there from Wall Garden. He improved the East Path up to top.

Moved sargent hemlock from front path bank to top of big rock. 

1990 - Wednesday - 59° at 7AM. Cloudy. Lots of Canada Geese landed on pond at breakfast time Mostly sunny - increasingly humid. Wes continued leveling north area, bringing up soil - I made stew - cut grass on cliff edge and along road - not much growing there. Pink Turtleheads [[?]]. Had a haircut at the mall - Transplanted Hosta and Fern at Big Rock area.

1991 - Thursday - 66° at 6AM - Light shower .35 inch - very little but welcome - cleared PM. 
To Mars. I washed hair - washed tablecloth. Prepared entries for Washington show. Wes worked on roadside path to North Top - moved stones. Muriel come at 1:30 - we worked until 2:30 - left to Washington - (4 for me including box of groundcover) - home at 5:15 - took entry cards to Louise McKeon at her request - she gave us tomatoes & beans    

1992 - Saturday - 66° at 8AM - Slept until 7:20! Foggy - damp - cleared enough to work outside. We moved the chrysogonum virginianum growing into dwarf spruce - put it atop wood [[?]] - moved one Japanese fern on east north slope - planted european ginger, Epimedium & Farella bought at Rock Garden Sale, W77 [[?]], some weeks ago. Wes raked path back after the heavy rain. Paper reported a down air burst [[?]] Stanford - not a tornado
