Family Olividæ. No [[strikethrough]] 28 [[/strikethrough]] 27-29

A family of magnificent tropical mollusks having smooth, glossy shells, often ornamented with V shaped or zig-zag markings. the Olives live on sandy beaches in burrows three or four inches deep. In crawling they plough through the sand, the animal [[crossed-out]] being [[/crossed-out]] partly above and partly below the surface, the bright colored shell being entirely covered by the dull colored mantle and thus concealed from its enemies.
