being able to freely open one's mouth in the middle of a body of H2O without worrying about chlorine, jellyfish or some such Washington area factor! I also had the time of my life using a "new" look (Minn. entomology and botany) at the fauna and flora of familiar yet suddenly strange and extremely fascinating places in Conn.. Two blocks away from home, in a woody patch, I caught a scorpion-fly, the existence of which in such proximity was never imagined before and in woods near an "old swimming hole" (about 20 minutes walk) approximately 8 specimens belonging to the Neuroptera! It is surprising to notice all that one can miss in one's environment through plain ignorance or lack of knowledge!

I hope you have some entertaining companions in the dining room of the ship on the way back, too. It certainly must be fun meeting them all. It might be interesting to observe whether they have newly acquired "Continental Airs" also.

Have missed the trips to the Chesapeake very much. Hope you were able to get some swimming in overseas.

Be seeing you soon, (I hope),

Love,
Sophy [Parfin]
