Why the arctic fox is white.

In the old days the arctic fox was gray. He lived in Alasker [[Alaska]] where it was cold all the year around. One day he came to a pit it was full of snow. The arctic fox fell into it. He waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, waited and waited. He did not die. Then he tried to get out. He got out at last. As he went along he met another arctic fox. Doesn't my gray coat look fine? Your coat isn't gray it's white said the other fox. No no no said the arctic fox who was white. Go look at yourself in a pond laughed the other fox. The white arctic fox went into a pond near by and looked at himself. Why why I didn't know I was white he said!
